PSV Goalie Gomes Juggling Big Offer |
| PSV Eindhoven’s Brazilian number 1 Gomes may be under contract with the Boeren until 2011, but the player has warned that he’s willing to consider a summer move – and is already sitting on a ‘big offer’…
zoom - galleria "There’s been contact with a big team, but there’s nothing official yet so I can’t say who, but we’re talking about a European great”, explained the player as reports of a potential move started to circulate. “They want me this summer and for the next two years after that season, but have asked me not to reveal their name. To leave PSV it has to be one of the biggest and this club is”, teased the evidently excited keeper. Nevertheless, he’s not about to pull a Reyes and beg to be released from some sort of imagined hell. The player emphasised that he’s just clearing the air and has no intention of moving unless an offer that can’t be refused arrives. The goalie hoisted his third Dutch League trophy in a row with Koeman’s Boeren on Sunday and feels a strong link to both club and city. "I’m under contract until 2011 and the club and fans have a great relationship with me, so I’d gladly sign on for another decade", he stressed. He’s still hopeful of making into the Copa America squad that will challenge for the 2007 edition in Venezuela between the 26th of June and the 15th of July. “Dunga hasn’t spoken to me directly yet but I’m ready and willing to defend the seleção anywhere and anyhow", he ended. |
